Dr. John Hur’s greatest joy and reward is seeing his patients return to the happy, active lifestyle they deserve. He understands that it takes more than surgical expertise to improve a person’s quality of life – which is why he takes his time to address questions and concerns before and after every surgery. He not only looks at your affected joints, but also takes into consideration your overall health. He tries to improve your health conditions carefully and thoughtfully to maximize your outcomes and minimize your risks which can be done non-operatively, whenever possible, or through surgery.
In practice since 2006, Dr. Hur has performed over 7,000 total hip and knee replacements to date. He was one of the first surgeons in Indiana to perform Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) total hip replacements. He has done over 3,000 DAA hip replacements so far.
Dr. Hur’s direct anterior total hip replacement has huge benefits over other techniques such as:
Dr. Hur also uses MAKO robotic technology, as well as computer navigation, in his total knee replacements enabling him to give his patients the latest, and most precisely aligned and balanced knees that can be offered today.
He constantly seeks to incorporate and offer the most cutting-edge technology into all areas of his practice. He absolutely loves taking care of his Hoosiers and people all over the Midwest!
When he is not at work, Dr. Hur enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, whom he met on their first day of medical school, enjoy golfing, skiing and traveling with their two daughters and son.
